King’s Camp!

Just another WordPress weblog

Session 1 is over and only hours away from Session 2!

June20

Session 1 was a blast. God did some great things in the lives of our campers this past week. We are only a few hours away from the start of Session 2 tomorrow. We are so excited for another great week at camp!

Fun during Session 1!

June17

So just a quick update. We are having a blast here at Session 1. The worship has been great with Jonathan Putnam and Bro. Todd Wooden has been just the perfect speaker for this session. We are blessed to have them both.

Our counselors are doing a fantastic job! Things are warm out here but that’s to be expected at a summer camp. Plenty of water and breaks in the shade make everything fine.

Sorry for the lack of updates. The more tiime Sara and I can be off the computer and out of the office and on the campgrounds with the campers the better. We like to be in the mix with the counselors and campers as much as possible.

Thanks for sending your kids and get pumped about next week you guys coming to Session 2.

Dave

This weekend & a camp need.

May19

This Saturday May 22nd come join us as Stowe Harbins team from Oak Grove shares with us about their Philippine mission. Also worship will be led by Chance Yates. Many of you know him from King’s Camp. Chance has led many sessions at camp over the past couple years and is great! Come join us at the barn at 6PM.

Also we have a special need at camp. Usually we borrow one golf cart and rent another for a discounted price for our work study directors to use throughout the summer running water coolers to and from activities. The other golf cart is used by our camp Chaplin Bro. Bob Hollas. This year we are only able to get one of these carts and are in need of another one. If you have one or know of someone who could loan a golf cart for June and July it would be a huge help. Golf, Gators, or Honda Mules would work. Anything would help. If you can help us with this in any way please call Dave at 318-974-2105

May9

At this point all the girls Work Study positions are filled. However we still have guy spots open for Sessions 1-3. If you are interested go to the site and check out the Work Study link and download an application now. www.clfcamp.com

Two big things happening. First we are still on the look out for a few college aged counseling staff members for King’s Camp this summer. If you or someone you know is interested check out the site www.clfcamp.com and go to the Staff link for more information.

The next big thing coming up in about a week Wednesday March 17th Jonathan and Amy Wiggins will be joining us for pot luck and worship in the barn to follow. If you’ve been around camp at all the last 15 years you would know Jonathan from leading Worship and his wife Amy being Camp Director. They have since moved to do ministry in Colorado and will be sharing with us that evening. Pot luck starts at 5pm in the newly built lodge across from the pool. Come join the fun!

March 1st Update!

March1

Today is March 1st and we are busy busy around King’s Camp headquarters. At this point we are getting camper applications in by the dozens. It’s so exciting to see new people coming to camp for the first time. Make sure and get yours in in order to reserve a spot.

Our summer staff is shaping up amazing as always. We have some great speakers and worship leaders lined up!
Our counseler staff is coming together great as well. We still have a couple of guys and girls positions availbable so if you or someone you know are interested go to www.clfcamp.com to the staff link and read up on it.

Dave

If you are going to graduate this May and want to work outdoors with kids and help them grow in Christ then come join us. This job isn’t just for 18 year olds either…any college age applicant is welcomed. Most of our staff ranges from 18-23. We will eat Friday night and then have some fun. Saturday we have a few projects around the campgrounds to kill time in between interviews. Then Saturday night Jonathan Putnam is leading worship at 6:30 PM at the Barn and Bro. Jim Ingram from First Baptist in Bastrop is speaking. Everyone is invited to the 6:30 service! See ya then!

One of which is our youtube channel where we have uploaded some video from some of the amphi theater services. We’ll upload more video as the weeks go on. The site also allows you to download a brochure and application and has a helpful Fequent Asked Questions page as well.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

December22

Happy Holidays everyone! We are currently updating the site for King’s Camp 2010. That should be up and running around the first of the year and we will let everyone know on here and our Facebook. Speaking of facebook that’s something else new. King’s Camp has a Facebook page now. Go add us as a friend if you are on there. We update that regularly as well.

Since the counselor reunion we’ve gone caroling with the the great folks at First Baptist Church in Bastrop. We had around a dozen counselors and campers show up and it was a blessing to go caroling in the Oak Woods nursing home here in Mer Rouge.

Also start looking for your brochures and applications in the mail after the first of the year.
It looks awesome and we can’t wait for you guys to see them. We love you guys and can’t wait to get this new 2010 campaign for King’s Camp! Until then Happy holidays and may God truly bless you all.
